Tim Hortons Port Credit, Mississauga at Pioneer gas bar
Life has many strange coincidence and Alan was the lucky soul where his Angels looked out for him!
As a fervent patron of Tim Hortons, in February 2019 Alan was attending his local Tim Hortons in Port Credit, Mississauga at the Pioneer gas station. While waiting in line in his wheelchair, his friend Gerry Jutsun walked in to the Tim Hortons and saw Alan waiting in line for his steeped tea and donuts.
Gerry asked him why he was in a wheelchair and Alan explained that he had a serious Motor Vehicle Accident, and where he was struck by a car while crossing Mississauga road on Lakeshore road. Alan explained that the driver had collided her car with Alan’s wheelchair, and where he was ploughed 150 feet up Mississauga road by the driver…until she stopped and he was ejected out of his wheelchair and landed face down on the asphalt road surface.
He was lucky just to be alive!
Gerry was very concerned about Alan’s plight and told Alan that this looked like a very serious accident and queried what was being done medically and if he was making an insurance claim against the 19 year old driver who didn’t have a drivers license. She fled the scene of the accident and was chased down by other drivers who forced her to return!
In fact, everyone in Port Credit knew Alan as a local fixture in the “Village” and where he was a routine volunteer for all the local entertainment festivals. Alan explained to Gerry that he had lost the ability to walk – since the accident on January 8, 2019, and that he was no longer able to stand, go to the bathroom or walk
… he was paralyzed from the waist down!
Gerry advised Alan Not To Sign any releases or waivers, as Intact – Jevco Insurance had offered him $3,000 to settle the insurance claim. He invited Alan to meet with his colleague Dr. Richard Buchanan and to discuss a plan of action for Alan’s rehabilitation and recovery. Alan was convinced that this was the best course of action for himself, as he never received proper medical attention with diagnostics and treatments, and was turned away from other law firms to take on his case … because they didn’t believe he had a significant insurance claim!

The sequence of catastrophic events that befell Alan are grotesquely inhumane and extremely harmful to Alan, both physically and mentally. Yet he has persevered and survived and is getting ready for major claims against all parties that have taken advantage of him and tried to destroy his positive demeanor and life affirming energy.
However until the claims are settled or won, Alan is in dire need of funds which are needed to pay for many living expenses that are not covered by government supports. He needs constant care around the clock and cannot be left alone!
Since the accident of Tuesday January 8, 2019, Alan has not walked again and is confined to lying in his hospital bed with limited mobility in his motorized wheelchair.
